When Life Gives You Lemons....Make Lemonade...

Hello friends!!! Hope all is well with you...It has been a bit gloomy around our parts with a chill in the air and some rain showers...Yet, doesn't bring me down.....I have plenty of sunshine in my home and lot's of citrus from my parents and friends to make lemonade. I love the citrus season...It gets me in the mood for warmer weather and sunshine & picnics. For now we picnic indoors and fill our sweet lemon pitchers full of lemony goodness. The past few years I have slowly made a collection of these sweet vintage lemon and orange juice pitchers. Each one was less than $2.00 each.  Which is pretty darn good considering.....
They are from, a starting bid of $12.00-$24.99 on Ebay. I have two 2 qt. lemon carafe pitchers & one 2 qt. orange carafe pitcher and one citrus tankered pitcher with handle....I guess these are hard to find. But I found them all thrifting through a couple of my fave shops. Not in a day...but over time.

I just love how they look filled with lemonade or water....
they are so pretty.

There are several on Ebay now, if your interested in having some for your own....
Or start hunting thrift shops and garage sales!!!
Hope y'all have a great week, whatever the weather may be.
 Lemonade sure brightens any day!!!

Cheerful Winter Finds......

I spent the whole week trying to catch up on housework and laundry. Finally got the chance to take a few pics. of the little treasures I found while thrifting with my Mom and Gramma. I put together a simple table display in the kitchen nook... Lemons from my moms tree under a glass cloche with gingham ribbon sitting sweetly on my favorite find...A darling vintage table cloth ...red with daisies and roses. I got it for $3.00. First I soaked in in cold water and lemon then gently hand washed it. There are a few spots that can't get out...But doesn't really matter for the price I got it for.

Another shop we went through, I found these two sisters...It reminds me of me and my Sister, Shawny. She has blond hair and I am a brunette. They were just $2.00. I couldn't resist their sisterly love!

Lastly I found a couple old children's books. I am a hobby children's book collector. Our collection is slowly growing... My daughter really enjoys the old stories and graphics from older books. Someday I will have them for my Grand Children...Lord willing. This last week I have been reading the tales from Little Prudy's Story Book before she slumbers down for her long Winter's nap. It is sweet thus far!

It's almost Friday... Back to work finishing up my daily chores, a brisk walk then a scrumptious dinner of BBQ Spare Ribs and homemade sweet potato fries...YUM! Wishing you all a happy day!

A Winter Retreat

My son got back from his Winter retreat up in Idyllwild California. Several of his friends from church went up with other Presbyterian Churches. They were welcomed with some snow, cabins, games, fellowship, devotions as well as church on Sunday and horsing around times of course!

It looks pretty cold up there. he said it was a great experience and better than last year. I am so glad he had the chance to go this year. He came back talking about doing a missions trip next. Prayerfully he will be able to experience that this Summer.

Here's my cute boy with a couple of his close friends...
 Awaiting a meal!

Looks like he had plenty of goofing around
time and a few snowball fights!

And there were plenty of magical scenes among them....
I love all the snow pics. How pretty it is!

Sunday, a few of his chums dressed up nicely for Church.
They are some sharp looking guy's...let me tell you!

Lastly, this was the whole gang from our Church that went together. They had the time of their lives and made some special memories. Oh to be young again! I wish I could have gone to things such as this. I am happy for them! Hope you enjoyed the pics. I did!!! Since I wasn't there myself to see with my own eyes, I am so glad there are pictures to see the experience.
Happy Wednesday!!!!

Random Blessings....

Hello friends! I was going to shoot some pictures today and forgot I gave my camera to my son for the weekend while he is up in the mountains on a Winter Retreat. Drats! I love taking pictures an boy do I feel naked without it...not really. But as most know I am a pathological picture taker. So I took some pics. out from my folders to share from the past couple weeks. The charm above was a little something I did on a low key day while the kids were off doing their own thing...I sat down and made pendants.
These sock monkey pendants were special orders by a customer who was giving them to her daughters for Valentines Day. I thought I would share how cute they turned out. It was a real blessing to have a few special orders during this season. I got to treat myself to a few fun thrifting finds over the weekend while visiting my parents. I will take pics. when I get my camera back.

These lil flowers were brought home to me by
Mr. Darling a couple weeks ago...
Not for any other reason but just because he loves me...How sweet!
Here are the heart shaped brownies Freckles & I made for Valentines Day.
Unfortunately we got hit with the flu for Valentines and we
were unable to celebrate as we planned...but still got the brownies done...
Lastly while Freckles, me, my Gramma and Mom were out in the rain we were doubly blessed with this! A double rainbow. Reminds me all the time of God's blessings on us and His promises always kept. It was a sight to see....a perfect whole bow across town. though this is not my picture...because oh yeah I don't have my camera this weekend!!!! ...This is though...exactly what it looked like. Hope you all had a blessed full weekend and a great week ahead!!

Hoo!

I hope you all had a lovely Valentines. We had a very quiet restful day due to illness running rampet through our home again. i awoke with a pounding headache, burning eyes, sore throat then a mild fever the last several days along with fatigue. No fun at all! We were focusing really hard on getting our son well for his Winter camp retreat this weekend with a bunch of Church friends. He's better now with a lingering cough. looks like he will be having some fun in the snow. Mr. darling will be hard at work with school and a sermon while Freckles and I have to come up with something fun to do.... Any HOO!!!!
Did ya see the cute Owl I made for the shop?
My daughter has been really big on owls lately so I
did this piece in honor of her, with freckles and all.
Except my daughter doesn't wear glasses.

This sweety is available for adoption now!

She not only looks smart, but she is smart.
I think she turned out cute!
 What do you think?
Hope you all have a great weekend ahead!!!!
