Goldilocks & The Three Bears

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. She went for a walk in the forest. Pretty soon, she came upon a house. She knocked and, when no one answered, she walked right in. At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl.

"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.
So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.
"This porridge is too cold," she said
So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.
"Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up.

After she'd eaten the three bears' breakfasts she decided she was feeling a little tired. So, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs. Goldilocks sat in the first chair to rest her feet.
"This chair is too big!" she exclaimed.
So she sat in the second chair.
"This chair is too big, too!" she whined.
So she tried the last and smallest chair.
"Ahhh, this chair is just right," she sighed. But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces!

Goldilocks was very tired by this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed, but it was too hard. Then she lay in the second bed, but it was too soft. Then she lay down in the third bed and it was just right. Goldilocks fell asleep. As she was sleeping, the three bears came home.

"Someone's been eating my porridge," growled the Papa bear.
"Someone's been eating my porridge," said the Mama bear.
"Someone's been eating my porridge and they ate it all up!" cried the Baby bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair," growled the Papa bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair," said the Mama bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair and they've broken it all to pieces," cried the Baby bear.
They decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom, Papa bear growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed,"
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed, too" said the Mama bear
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there!" exclaimed Baby bear.Just then, Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears.
She screamed, "Help!" And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And she never returned to the home of the three bears.

Now,This Is What We Call Vitamin D......

Ahhh, what a beautiful day spent... just the four of us!

We went to Oceanside today. Enjoying the company of one another . We watched our children play in the water & soaking up the sun as the waves tickled their toes.

The water was quit cold, yet, brought back memories of my own childhood. Mr. Darling and I enjoyed the warm sun immensely, what we call Vitamin D. May I remind you we were recently living in the Northwest. Which depleted much of my vitamin D. This is just what the doctor ordered !

The Lord replied, "My precious child.

I love you and I would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering

when you saw only one set of footprints...

That was when I carried you."

Carolyn Joyce Carty

Our children had smiles from ear to ear all day.

They were playful, giggling and jumping for joy !!

Even us old folks had a bit of fun.

I found myself running from the cold waves.
Call me a scardy cat, I dare you !

Mr. Darling borrowed Freckles hat to keep the bright sun out of his face.

Cute ain't he?

Freckles fished out a whole load of seaweed.
She's not scared one bit to touch that slimy stuff.
Notice, Young Maestro doesn't touch it though.

~A Day at the Beach~

A day at the beach

What could be More fun

Than playing in

The sand

The surf

The sun

Building castles

And rivers

And splashing

In the waves

There's no better

Way to spend

Those hot days

~ Sharon Froese~

Let us not forget the trusty Lifeguard who was sleeping !

Thank God no one was drowning!

~Mine~

I made a sand castle.
In rolled the sea.
"All sand castles
belong to me— to me,"
said the sea.

I dug sand tunnels.
In flowed the sea.
"All sand tunnels
belong to me— to me,"
said the sea.

I saw my sand pail floating free.
I ran and snatched it from the sea.
"My sand pail
belongs to me—
to ME!"

~Lilian Moore

~ Sandcastle ~

From the beach its sandy walls rise,
It's turrents reach up to touch the skies.
A tiny moat dissolves the keep.
It's pavers are strong, though only two inches deep.
Tiny footprints embedded in the sand,
Where once a child there did stand.
It's grace and beauty a short time will last,
Before the sea washes it into the past.
~Author Unknown~

See the red dot there in the sand?

After the kids made their sandcastle a little ladybug decided to move in.

A day at the beach isn't finished until someone gets buried.
Maestro allowed us to bury him alive.

We were so relaxed by the end of the afternoon.
We treated ourselves to ice cream sundaes afterwards...to top off the day !!

Working At Home.....

I am blessed to have the opportunity to be

home

and to be there for my children, schooling them and loving them all day long. When I get the chance, I work on my art, which is usually reeeealllly late at night.

As I sit here working on my doodles and dolls, I am in awe with what God has blessed us with. The chance to be at

home

is one big blessing. I can't even describe to you.

This is my work, my calling.

I am so excited for this upcoming ConvenZioNE.... still working in the wee hours of the night, sewing, painting and sculpting.

I know it will be a fun experience yet, I have to say,
I hate having to leave our
home,
my hubby & my children behind.
Time is ticking, I must go back to work, I have less than a week before I go... and so many things waiting to be finished !!
I will keep you posted and will share more goodies which I am bringing for the Papier & Pleasantries show at the ConvenZioNE.
Have a deeeelightful Springy day !!!

Alter Me......

For many years now I have dabbled in altered art. Taking something old, broken and forgotten items and giving them new purpose. I have been preparing for the ZNE Art ConveZioNE to teach and sell my goods in just 8 more days.

I have re -purposed & altered some antique and vintage items into cheery bling. As well as my favorite broken and forgotten china doll heads... fresh, fun pieces have been created !

I can't wait to spend 5 days spreading

the joy of Art to others!

There is still time to sign up for the ConveZioNE as well as the "Eat Cake class " I will be teaching.

Visit here to register.

And...everyone needs luggage to go on a trip right?
I have re- purposed/altered this old brown suitcase, adding a brilliant red color, vintage luggage labels and red polka dot ribbon.

To make your own... check Flea Markets, Thrift Shoppes and Garage/Estate sales for an old /vintage suitcase. I found mine for $5.00. Buy your favorite color spray paint ( Krylon ) . Spray the case all over in well ventilated area, let dry completely. You can buy many fun vintage style sticker luggage labels online or search the Internet. Here are a few I used. Just color copy from your computer on regular paper, cut out and mod podge back of paper. Place labels wherever you desire. Add ribbon to each side of case for a whimsical feel.

Pack & go !

( I will be adding more labels to my case

as well as decorating the other side)

Voila !!

A sweet suitcase to put your belongings !!!

And travel in style !

Time For Tea....

My dear friends threw me an afternoon garden tea party

last week for my birthday.

What a delight it was. I tell ya, they went all out.

I thought it was very fancy... which made me feel like a Princess for the day.

We has delectable treats, tea sandwiches, salad, fruit, cold tea, hot tea.

You name it, it was all there & all so scrumptious !

The food was amazing, as was the company.

The table was set out in the garden.

We ate, we sipped tea and enjoyed the wonderful warm Spring day together.

Thank you to my dear friends for the sweet tea party !
